Certification of the Slovak Endodontic Society
The Slovak Endodontic Society (SES) Certification is a professional assessment system designed to evaluate dentists’ theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and clinical competence in the field of endodontics. Its purpose is to promote excellence in endodontic care, encourage lifelong professional development, and establish a high standard of clinical practice in accordance with current scientific evidence and international guidelines.
The certification process requires candidates to meet predefined professional criteria, submit and present clinical case documentation for evaluation, and successfully pass a certification examination. Obtaining SES Certification serves as formal recognition of a clinician’s expertise and professional competence, while contributing to the continuous improvement of the quality of endodontic treatment in Slovakia.
Roman Blahuta, MD, PhD
Dr. Roman Blahuta graduated in Dentistry from the Faculty of Medicine, Comenius University in Bratislava, in 2005. Between 2005 and 2011, he completed his external PhD studies at the Department of Stomatology and Maxillofacial Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, Comenius University, in collaboration with St. Elizabeth's Cancer Institute.
He currently practices at a private dental center in Bratislava, where he specializes in endodontics and restorative dentistry performed under a dental operating microscope. Over the years, Dr. Blahuta has delivered numerous lectures and hands-on courses, primarily throughout Central Europe. He is one of the founding members of the Slovak Endodontic Society and currently serves as its President.
Pavol Podolský, MDDr.
Dr. Pavol Podolský graduated in Dentistry from the Faculty of Medicine, Comenius University in Bratislava, in 2011. From 2011 to 2015, he worked as an employed general dentist. In 2016, he established his own private dental practice, where he performs all clinical procedures exclusively under a dental operating microscope. In the same year, he became the certified radiation protection supervisor for the use of ionizing radiation sources in dental practice and successfully completed the certification examination in dentoalveolar surgery.
In 2018, he became a member of the Slovak Endodontic Society (SES). Since 2019, he has been actively lecturing and conducting professional courses for dentists in the fields of microscopic dentistry and microscopic endodontics.
Since 2020, he has participated in the development and regular updating of standardized endodontic and retreatment protocols for the Slovak Endodontic Society. In 2021, he was elected to the Executive Board of the SES, and in 2022, he obtained Certified Membership of the European Society of Endodontology (ESE).
Since 2024, Dr. Podolský has served as a Key Opinion Leader for MEDCEM and regularly attends the world's leading endodontic congresses, including the Roots Summit, the ESE Biennial Congress, and the IFEA World Endodontic Congress.
